Hi guys! I have a classic mini which I've fitted a 1242 16v FIRE engine and gearbox into.
Unfortunately the headgasket blew while I was in London (I live 300 miles away in Cumbria),
I used steel seal as a quick fix to get me home, (still can't believe how well it worked!) but unfortunately when I took the head off to do the gasket some of the steel seal has got into piston No.3 and has scored the bore

I am looking at getting a knife edged crank and polished pistons from a 1368cc 16v and the guy selling them assures me that they will fit fine if I bore it out to fit the pistons

Now the stroke of the 1.4 is 84mm compared to the 1.2 which is 78.9mm
so what I'm not sure about is how that will change the compression ratio with the standard 1242 head?

Do any of you wonderful people have any clarification on whether or not the C/R would be way too high or if it will be ok? not that I dont trust the guy but I wanted to double check before I start spending money

Cheers guys! :)
