I recently purchased a 1971 500F.
I replaced the timing chain, rubber belt, plugs, wires, air filter, leaking drive shaft boots and fluids.
Well my wife wants heat, so I ordered the appropriate rubber and fiber hoses as well as the metal tube (between the two)
Now my issue - With the hoses in place the metal tube literally places itself (as well as a hole to mount the cable management tab)
BUT! The metal tube contacts the starter AND one of the exhaust tubes, making the normal engine movement impossible.
Upon further investigating, my engine case is stamped 126XXXXXXX
I thought the 126 engine ONLY mated to the synchro gearbox, yet mine is non synchronized.
Are the cases interchangeable ?
It’s not a learning curve….just straight up!
