Mr Brown, your Janspeed manifold won't fit onto a 1242 - but I'd highly reccommend one.

ooooh cheers for reminding me pete, my cars going in tomorrow for a bit of work on the pipes lol! will ask about extending the manifold slightly to make it fit a 1242

I suppose so, but it's about 3/4" short as it stands to go under the 1242 sump.
If you look at the manifold, it'd be pretty complicated to cut and extend it - all the pipes are at an angle pointing toward the ground, so if you cut and extend it they won't line up properly again.
