Technical 1242 engine swap

looking at the faq for the swap it says use sporting gear box is there a reason for this ie a better gearbox or is it to do with clutch?

was looking at a punto in the breakers and it had a hydraulic clutch is that the same on all models?

just going to have to let this go at that but i think this is clear im saying use the sporting gearbox not the punto i was just wondering why?

just one last thing is there significant improvement in performance when using 1242 punto engine just wondering because going from the 899 to the 1.1 fire engine was quite a pleasant surprise was and am well impressed by the performance of the wee car.

yeah, the 1242 has more torque. i never drove my car as a standard 1242 but did drive a 1242 Sei and it felt quicker than my mildly tuned 1108 was before it popped.

the 1108 blew the headgasket thats why i binned it and got a 1242
