Anyone know....

Is the T-Jet engine found in the GP and Bravo the same as in the 100HP?
If not do you reckon they'd slot str8 into the 100HP, maybe just change the ECU etc over?

Thanks

yea, the T-Jet is basically a strengthened, turbocharged version of the FIRE engines so far as im aware... ie the 500 abarth will effectively be a turbocharged 100hp, same 1.4 engine :D

Don't think the T-Jet is based on the FIRE engine that's in the 100hp. Could be wrong though....

Well my thinking is that they are the same displacement and Fiat is surely unlikely to have developed two COMPLETELY different engines of the same size no?

So i was wondering if the ancilliaries off a T-Jet would fit (turbo, ecu etc) or if it would just be easier to try and find a complete engine from a scrappy?

And before anyone chimes in, no, 99bhp definitely isn't enough(y)

You can't just bung a turbo on a non-turbo motor....Well you could but it will probably go bang!....Compression ratios will be different for a starter....

Supercharger yes (y), turbo no! (n)

Both share the same block, same bore, stroke and same cylinder head design. And this is as far as it goes.

If you want to turbo it you need the T-Jet lump really and have to go stand alone and be prepared for a lot of challenges before you get it right.

You will still need to lower the compression ratio to run a supercharger with any sort of boost.

I would rather go for a decent exhaust manifold and throttle bodies. I think this would suit the car better and you aren't as likely to run into packaging problems, i.e. finding somwhere for the turbo or supercharger / intercooler to go.

I recently picked up a set of CBR throttle bodies for £45 for my zetec chevette project, so could be a cheaper option too.

Valid points here folks so it seems that turbo charging the Panda fro m scratch will be too much of a head ache.
And apparently there is a supercharging kit being developed for the Fiat 500 so i would assume they mean the 1.4 so its the same as the panda.

So

Option 1)
Wait for Supercharger kit

Option 2)
Go Exhaust Cams Induction and wait for ECU to be conquered

Option 3)
Wait for a T-Jet to ome up at a breakers yard and have the complete engine and ECU out of it!

I think Option 1 seems the most practical but how long will it take???
Option 2 will be good but will prob only push out 140bhp (like in the Panda cup) and be very noisy.
Option 3 would be ideal as the T-Jet lump out of the Bravo is 150bhp std and there are already re-maps available for it.:cool:
