Tuning 1.8 HGT Brake disc removal & re-fitting ?

Wheel off.
Locating pins off.
Undo 2 caliper bolts behind.
Remove caliper.
Remove disc.

If your disc has a bit of wear on it, there may be an outer lip on the disc that you cannot get the pads over. Pull the whole caliper towards you and that should push the piston back into its bore, giving you enough of a gap to slide the whole assembly away from the disc.

Also make sure to put the disc on in the same position.

If fitting new ones check the run out.

I assume that you are doing more than a disc and pad swap then? Rear bearing by any chance? I think its 30mm or 32mm. Not sure on mk2.

just discs & pads mate - the bolt is shaped to a washer which the old disc wont pull past - this IS the case yea?
