Technical 1.6 heater blower int. works

Hi Guys
Needs some help regarding my heater fan, started messing about by sometimes working on all 4 settings or totally dead on all 4 settings, have searched till my eyes bleed, lots of info and pictures, my problem or doubts are about the pictures etc. regarding my basic non aircon type system, which earth point diagram and fuses/relays do I need to check, have already checked 1 fuse under dash, also big fuse on top of battery, which has 12v to it, also checked connections to heaterbox ie nothing pulled out, and checked/ cleaned the D4 plus all other connectors in same area, any help much appreciated.

Well I think I just opened a can of worms, now am getting engine man. light on, sometimes the car will start then die a little bit later, or just swings but not take, am sure I did not hear the fuel pump priming, although if it starts after a couple of attempts and I drive, it gets me to work and back, bit worried bombing down the m6 though lol.
