The ECU is programmed for normal 95 octane petrol. In order to make use of super the ignition map needs to be altered and its unlikely that the ECU will change it by enough to make super work.

The optimax ad is pure marketing bullshite.

Your probably getting mixed up with premium unleaded and super unleaded. Super unleaded is Higher octane and can lose u power on a car which its not made for.

Premium unleaded is just unleaded (the cheap kind). Super unleaded is about 5 -7 pence ish more per gallon, so just make sure that the unleaded is cheap!

Super unleaded is very similar to shell optimax too which is expensive and pointless unless you have a very advanced engine.
