General 1.3 MultiJet

This engine is chain driven. What is the change interval of the chain?

The Fiat local service says its 100.000km, while I'v read reviews stating that the 1.3 MultiJet unit requires no chain service for up to 250.000km.

Which one is true?

I think this thread should not have been moved from Lets Talk FIat forum, but then again, it wasnt getting any attention there...

From what I was told, the chain is meant to be replaced as a part of a complete overhaul at 250.000km, the normal rated life of the engine before needing any major work done. This was directly from Fiat Denmark.

But don't worry about, trust me that you will notice if the chain goes bad, they tend to become really loud for a while before failing completely.
