Hi all,

I posted here a while back about replacing the engine on my Panda that my partner broke, after a lot of trial and error and lessons learned the new engine is in and everything is more or less hooked up and ready to test!

However I have a random sensor that I cannot for the life of me figure out what it's supposed to plug into. In the wiring loom it comes out right around where the wires for the alternator and starter motor come out, but it's a bit longer and stretches up as far as the throttle. Pics below of the sensor itself and the wire colours in the loom leading to it if that helps anyone.

Thanks in advance!

Are you asking about that yellow and orange plug..??

I think its IDLE.. has no purpose
Yep - the one that's unplugged in the picture.

My plan is to test run the engine tomorrow so wanted to check if this was gonna flag up any warning lights first.

Is that the unused speedo connector ?

Usually dangles loose above the gearbox

Cars with ABS fitted don’t use the speed sensor that use to be fitted on to of the differential

My diesel has something similar (folded up and strapped down) near the water pump. Who knows what it does, but the end is as dirty as everything else so it's been there for a long time.
