hello guys im new in this forum thing and hope some can help me with my problem

i have changed the head gasket on my 1,2 8v punto and have no spark at all... engine were driving preetty before. well, i then saw conecter on the backside of the engine with 3 pins on and just cant find a place it fits... if i knew how i would have posted some pics of it.

Hope someone can help, i need this car running! :bang:

I seem to remember two of the plugs on the loom on this engine could be mixed up wrong
Also does the k e y light on dashboard extinguish on cranking if not make sure earth cable is connected on throttle body
Final thing is have you damaged crank sender that sits to pulley on crank end if you took pulley off

Recheck pulley.
Make sure the pip in right place..

Timing all OK?

What colour is the plug?
I think you've found the stray wire..all puntos have a stray wire or two..one is for the alarm siren they don't have..

wich plugs was it? i will at the key emblem when im cranking. and i dont think the crank sender is broken..
the plug is yellow and cant remember removing it.
yes i have, the car ran after i started it up for about 1 sec. and then died.. the engine is turning around nicely and marks are spot on..

To confirm no spark put an old plug on top of engine near a good earth and connect to one of ht leads get friend to crank whilst looking for spark
The ecu plugsx2 are both fastened down properly I assume

Well found out The rear of the two coil packs deliveres a orange spark and the front coil pack dont delivere anything.. hows that possible as it drove before?:-O

Swap suspect working with suspect duff one

Has fault moved or stayed put

Since hg work has gone on
Has the ecu been removed?
Not trapped any wires anywhere?

Are you getting 12v (battery reference) to 1 terminal on each of the low tension coil pack connection

Ziggy

UPDATE
got the car running with old ignition cables it runs smootley but engine check light is on and suddenly after 10 min of running the engine cuts out and won't start again. its wierd because yesterday the car was running and after head gasket replacement everything F***s up! i checked timing, every cable is on there right place except the one on the back of the engine.. the crank wheel is also fitted correctly. i have replaced spark plugs, ignition cables, HG, oil and filter and thermostat. i dont know about the coils because no parts break overnight.
i simply dont know what is going on

yes the cables was removed but that after the battery was removed and i get a multimeter tomorrow

check what error will that engine light show
did you connect ht leads wires correctly?

And the yellow key on the Dashboard does NOT light up when im cranking the engine

Probably the crank sensor, down in front of the crank pulley. Cable goes down over engine from cam cover, so is disturbed when head taken off, so check it is plugged in properly.

May otherwise be the sensor on the camshaft, if you have one. Next to the oil filler cap.
