Does anyone have these? Specifically for the 16v engines.

I am doing a ground-up rebuild of my sporting engine, with 1.4 crank. I bought new standard size bearings for the mains and big ends. I plastigauged them, and the mains clearance is just over 0.050mm.

I got the 1.1 8v clearances off Craig with the cinq, and the clearance for them is 0.047mm. So I nearly ordered the next size down bearings, then thought about it...

The 16v oil pump is different to the 1.1, if t can flow more, then the clearances can be opened up more. So maybe the clearances for the 16v are larger.

Thats why I would like the 16v clearances specifically.

Please, can anyone help? Or tell me what book I need to buy to find them? I rang FIAT and they were feckin useless :bang:

Cheers :)

punto haynes says:

outer rotor-to-housing clearance 0.100 to .210
Axial clearance 0.025 to 0.070

Somebody has used the 1.2 16v values on the 1.4 recently.

What other values are you after exactly and will have a look as there seem to be loads and they mean nothing to me :p

sorry, that means nothing to me! Ive never heard of that jargon before!

"outer rotor-to-housing clearance" "axial clearance"? what are they? And what units are they in?

Im only really after:

main (crank to block) bearing clearance
big end bearing clearance
crank end float
piston ring gap

I have all the torques etc from autodata, so its ok that way.

Cheers!

oh, one more thing - how do you tell what grade your shells are? The fiat guy asked me which grade, I couldnt tell him so he ordered the same part number that was stamped on my old shells.

is there a grade number stamped on the shells somewhere?
