Hi,
So i've been busy with this problem with a 1.2 1242cc 16v 188A5000 engine.. When you turn on ignition, you hear the fuelpump and some relays, now the fuelpump did not always stay on it was stuttering randomly. (on/off on/off, for random periods). After a while the fuel pump didn't get a signal at all, no matter how hard you budge the cables near the ECU or relays. Usually the relay for the fuelpump which is next to the relay of the ECU would click when you turn on the ignition... Only the relay for the ECU clicks.
Now I put direct 12V on the fuel pump but the car wouldn't start because the other actuators; sparkplugs, injectors, lambda don't get signal/power.
Now under the hood I hear clicking near near the ECU, and I think that's the ECU randomly giving signals to the before mentioned actuators. Because when the ecu clicked you hear the fuelpump for a split second. Budging the cables has no effect. This occurs randomly a few times.
I have tested all the relays including the red one. All of them click.
We have removed the whole dashboard to check all cables, fuses, relays... Budged all the cables while on ignition. Nothing happened, just randomly the clicking near the ECU and randomly activating the fuelpump for a split second.
You can't OBD either, the EOBD tester doesn't work and Examiner neither. Once I had the system working for a minute and I could enter the ECU with the examiner however there were no codes...
Additional info: KM 205.000 Built 2001.
The gages in the middle display the KM, as usual.
When you turn on ignition the yellow relay clicks behind the dash, and the red relay clicks under the hood.
I'm really confused now, how ofter do ECU's break?
