Seicento  '00 Seicento Sporting.

Introduction

OK, so I figured it was about time I did this so I could keep track of any modifications I've done to her.

Bought in April with just shy of 20k on the clock, I've only done about 1,500 miles since then - trying not to add too many miles on to it whereever possible by carsharing to work.

Mods:
Performance - Supersprint Tailbox, 4-2-1 manifold with decat, 40mm Tricker, ported and polished Uno inlet, custom induction kit.
Exterior - Carbon style number plates, FF Stickers in rear windows
Interior - Blue LED's behind speaker grilles
ICE - Tevion MP3/Bluetooth stereo, BOSS 4" 125wRMS speakers up front, BOSS 8" 15wRMS in custom rear door cards, 100wRMS BOSS Outlaw sub in boot.

So she now has a brand new rad fitted, along with a replacement fan and a brand new thermostat. Basically, the original fan seized, causing the fuse to blow, presumably then causing the stat to stick open, so the engine was never really getting up to temperature and I presume this is the cause of the recent MPG issues. blu73 also decided to take the angle grinder to the induction kit to shorten the piping a little so that looks better. All in all now, with the decat and 4-2-1 added in it feels and sounds immense and I'm glad to be driving it again :D

Tbh I wasn't focusing too much on the temperatures as the headlights are so awful compared to the Pajero I was having enough trouble seeing where I was going lol. But yep, behaved herself perfectly, from what I can remember I looked at the temperature just at about the point I joined the M1 and it was sitting at 75-80ish.

Exhaust sounds good! Did blu73 already got out his camera? Curious how it would sound then!

Yeah...Cento lighting is crappy. Don't try and use yellow H4, or put on an extra set of rally lights when you drive in the countryside.:p

thats what i blame for my poor lights that there close to the floor , with being lows , as blu73 said about the new head lights , im driveing the pug each time i go to main beam . i put the indercator on ,, after driveing the cento for 5 years ,, i keep putting the stalk down for main beam , but thats a indcator lol

but jap cars have them on the right side, its better when you get used to it. UK cars used to be that way round but then with manufacturers making things interchangeable we just get the LHD stalks from europe on our RHD cars these days. Japanese people drive on the right like us and so its already the right way around.. But yeah following Eklipze is funny as he always getting wipers when he want indicators and vice versa. :D

Your lights prob do point down a bit thinking on as your car has quite a raked stance, adjusters should be able to sort it, hopefully.

Sound wise, its much the same as with the CAT but it has more rasp. CATs making the airflow more linear due to there design makes alot of difference to noise at the tailpipe.

So a bit of catching up to do here.

At some point in 2013 she started acting up and it turned out that the holes in the crank wheel had become distended, causing the car to really struggle and all sorts of nonsense. I also lost the parking I had at the flat so I had to nurse it to Blu's mates farm just outside of York. We then moved house a few weeks later but it wasn't until November 2013 I think that we were able to get up to the farm and get her sorted and running again!

I drove her down to the new house, parked her up with a plan to change the exhaust mani back, get her MOT'd and back on the road, and all would be well. Nothing happened between November and February, then in February - as blu was moving and needed to downsize his fleet, I bought Molly off of him and the yellow one took a back seat.

To cut a long story short, TB4 has been sat in purgatory at the back of my drive since Nov 2013 doing absolutely nothing until a couple of days ago when Molly was sold, and I was able to get her out. Just moving her was a struggle as the battery is completely dead, the brakes were seized solid so I had to use a breaker bar on each wheel to free them off before I could even start to move her.

First thing she needed was a good wash, almost 2 years of muck built up was not an attractive look.

The least of my worries, but one which needs prompt attention is the fact that the metal valve caps have seized solid. The tyres appear to have plenty of air still in them, but I've no way to be sure so I've ordered a valve removal/replacement kit and will be putting on the yellow valves I bought years ago for the wheels that got stolen (grrr).

Other than being quite rusty, all of the suspension appears to be in good condition, there's no leaks from the shocks and the springs are still springy.

I have a spare oil filter and oil ready to go, so I guess the question is - what else should I do? Drain, flush and refill coolant? If so, should I run it first and make sure the thermostat/fan aren't seized, so that I can do those while the system is empty? if it was you, would you replace the plugs, leads and air filter as a matter of course? The cone filter is fairly new and looks in good nick, I could just take it off and hoover it out?

Any thoughts appreciated :)

How much fuel is in it? I'd be tempted to get some fresh, If its not very full just a few jerry cans of high octane in should be fine - if its got like half a tank + in then drain a bit out first then stick the fresh in. Chuck the old over the neighbours fence and have a barbie ;)

It should mostly be ok tbh. I would certainly change the oil but i know the coolant we stuck in it way back when was 5 year stuff so should be fine - let it run a bit and check the coolant in the tank still looks fresh once its circulated a bit, if not change it, if it does leave it. Can check the stat and fan are working then too - top rad house should stay cold and then jump up to about 60, there is the gauge pickup there so should be able to just watch that gauge and it will stay low and then jump up and then wait for the fan.
Air filter will be fine, done hardly any miles that I'd just leave it be.
And just give all the rubber hoses and stuff a good looking over as they have been sat a fair while some may have started to perish a bit.

Also you make it sound worse than it really was..

We went to that meet in Feb 2013 and it was running fine then, was after that the pulley get damaged and we fixed it, then came the supersprint mani and mid pipe, and then you lost the parking spot and she came and lived at my house until mid summer before it went to the farm (iirc cause i got more cars and there was no space left)

Anyhoo, I found a few pics

Living at my old house after tesco made everyone not park in the car park and then proceeded to do naff all with the land (is there even anything there now?)

Fixing the exhaust before you drove it away from the farm, think it went to granny's house for a bit first and then to yours iirc

That was so funny getting him out of that hole, lol, so much burnt grass! Either way though, it's still been sat for almost 2 years doing nowt

New battery ordered anyway, hopefully be running by the weekend and can get the exhaust swapped over for the MOT.
