hello im new to this site, i have a 07 punto 1.3 diesel, it started and drove but on driving the glow plug light flashed. go to where i needed to go but when i got back to the car i turned the ignition on but no glow plug light came on and didn't start also noticed the fuel pump wasn't humming, i briefly googled a way to get it started so i did that it said to disconnect battery then turn ignition on the connect battery and then i got it running. once got it home i used a friends scanner there was no codes what so ever:confused:so if any one could help me it would be great.

My money is on bad earth cable ;)
 
i now have a new problem the car wont start now as in it wont crank and i can't here the fuel pump start up. i did have a read online that if you disconnect the battery then put ignition on and connect the battery it should start, so i tryed that and it ran? and i know its not the best thing to do. i have checked the earths and all the connectors and they are all ok and there is no codes stored as i checked it before i did any thing on the car. if any one has any ideas for me to try as i want to fix it my self before taking it into a garage. Many Thanks....
 
the dash lights up as normal just no glow plug light but that relay has been replaced
 
My money would also be on ground/earthing, always the culprit in my cars!
