Hello,

Friend selled me Punto 1.2 8v 2000 with faulty clutch cilynder. Nothing was wrong with engine.

I left it in garage with battery disconnected for 1 week.
Yesterday I started it and it didn't want to idle.
If I want to start it instantly I need to give it a bit of throttle and when started if I completely let the throttle it stalls.
It starts without a throttle and idles realy low, at about 600RPM, if I rev it and let go of the throttle it will stall.

I warmed it up till fan kicked in and reved it for few minutes, but that didn't solve the problem.

Funny thing is that yesterday I cleaned spark plugs and it was idling well after that.
Today was the same story (not idling), I had just moved battery plus terminal a bit and it was idling again... I started it again after 3 hours and again no idle...
Checked all wires and connectors and everything looks good.
Where should I search for the problem?

I know for sure that it didn't had any problems like that before because I was doing all maintaining work on this car for last few years.

Looks like a bad IAC valve (Idle Air Control).
Look at ePER on top of this page to see if your engine has this valve.

Hello, it stopped doing this at it's own. I also cleaned throttle body yesterday. Thank you for help
