Morning all.

I recently bought a sat nav, and only just remembered that the cigarette lighter doesn't work.
When I got the car (must be over 10 years now), the first thing I did was replace the centre console with one from GT. IIRC out of frustration I stupidly cut the cable connecting to it as it wouldn't come out.
Now I need it :bang:

Is this an easy fix?

Well if all you did was cut them, strip the wires back and use something like this to reconnect them.

Do they need to be the heat shrink version, as I have got something similar from an amp and sub install pack (the 100 piece pack where you only end up using 4 of them).

They don't need to be, but I personally feel the heatshrink ones are safer than the crimp ones.

silly question, how do you melt them?

Heat gun, or lighter (at a slight distance). I used to have one of these but I swear it cost me a lot less than that!
