Hi

I have had a replacement hub on the front but had the esp and asr light on since it was fitted. I believe there should be a sensor on it but maybe fiat gave me the wrong part.

Part number 60545087 hub.

or should the system be re set after it was fitted.

Re: help please

Yes ABS hubs have the sensor wheel integral with the hub. If you had the wrong one fitted then ABS is never going to work

If you pump up all your vehicle details then someone may be able to help you with part nos etc

Re: help please

I thought the ABS sensor was on the bearing? When it was done on my Brava, the (correct) bearing had a magnet on it - one assumes for the hall effect.

The part number you gave was for a 2.4 Stilo. Presuming yours is a 2.4, then it's the correct part :).

Imagine the bearing has a disc like a roulette wheel and the sensor, in the hub, is a stationary torch picking out the pattern of black numbers. With some quick computing it can tell whether the wheel is stopped, turning, accelerating or decelerating and feed this information to anything that needs to know what's happening, like the ABS control

To be honest we get this alot from customers who have the bearings fitted at non dealers/specialists. The bearing has a magnetic ring on one side, which the active sensor needs to run beside. What normally happens is the bearing is either put in the wrong way round, the snap ring is located in the wrong position and masks the ring from the sensor or the sensor is damaged from when it was removed to get the old bearing out.
