Just been down to the Post Office and back with my Stilo and I've got this list of faults:

Not an error message - Not a rattle - Nothing wrong at all!

It's running bloody perfectly

In fact it's even more perfect than the day I first bought it. :spin:

Do you think I ought to change it for a Golf

take it down to the dealers pronto!!!

ASR warning

ABS warning

Low oil warning

and a new one, a bulb warning

It seems we're no happy with out a fault on our Stilos, some thing is twisted in our minds!

Mine had a bad piece from day 1, but nothing compared to my last VW VR6 who was at dealer garage one day and the next also (with check engine light), this for 3 months since new!! You better stay with your tractor!

argo - check your clock and date settings, it must be set to April 1st.

Did it have the cheek to say Checking... Check ok as well??

I have to admit I was bit annoyed it didn't wish me "Happy Birthday" (I'd have less of that anyway ) but then it doesn't say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy New Year" either

Actually come to think of it, it doesn't have a radio clock with a Time Zone warning either

Oh Well! Not so good after all then

Consider this though, we might get a few warnings a day etc, think how many stupid windows and warnings we get in microsoft programs every day,

maybe if Fiat made a computer operating system we would all be better off???

Nah scrap that, the updates and patches would be rubbish and you would have to wait months for new programs, he he

yep, thats the worst one of all - hate that one too


the asr/abs is just down to low current on start up! Maybe a low battery or just try re starting it!

Go buy the traackter version then! Seriously though... '52 1.6 terrible with bleeps and warning lights thus my FForum handle :bang: '03 JTD... no drama & does exactly what I want it too, no complaints Strange... considering they are Stilos of the same vintage

Nah, I already got use of a remapped 2.2JTD I prefer the feel and rumble of a 2.4 beast in mine.

On my JTD it's so long between fill-ups I tend to forget you're supposed to put fuel in.

.....so that when I eventually do get the LOW FUEL Beep I nearly jump out of my seat

I certainly agree you seem to get less problems with the JTD. It amuses me when someone posts that it's best to avoid the older models. Hell! Mine's an 02 and I get less problems than a lot of the guys with the newer models (not to mention more toys too )

I get the same in the 1.2- long time between fill ups, especially when driving like im driving miss daisy

Mine wished my Happy 21st . Only because I programmed it too, nice to know I have a friend .

See now this is what makes me laugh. If I'm being honest, my car needs:

• Front Bumper Respray (due to paint cracking caused by stone chips)
• New passenger wheelarch liner (caused by dealer breaking it whilst working on the car then refusing to admit it)
• New drivers seat pad, cloth and mechanism (it's screwed)
• New instrument cluster (my retrofit brandnew Abarth one lasted 6 weeks)
• Dash refitting (it creaks like a b*****d)
• Front suspension and rear suspension needs looking at / parts replacing (bangs and squeaks galore).

Hang on, wait . . . Let me fill this forum full of "Stilos are crap", "I hate the Stilo", "EVERYONE! Go and buy a Non-Stilo car", "FIAT are murderous scum" threads and posts . . .

No, I love my car, and even though the above needs doing, it's doing me proud. Things happen, it's a car in constant daily use, and I'm a poor student, so if anyone can moan it's me. And look, I'm not . . . Well I am, but only about all this non-deserved and very sudden negativity towards this car.
