Hi Guys/Girls,
New to this forum (Although a regular on a Subaru forum called Scoobynet) and am in the next month or so buying a brand new Stilo for my mrs (Perlescent silver colour which I can't quite remember the exact name of now!!)
I intend to tint the windows and fit 17 inch wheels to it for her. What sorta wheels look good on these things then apart from the standard Abarth ones?
Is it better to fit 18's to these things or is 17in sufficient?
Any pics or links to pics gratefully received....

Cheers

Nick

I believe 18's will require mods to the arches, which is probably not what you want to do with a new car;)

My opinion is that going with the standard fiat optional extra ones is the best move, I personally like the 'knife edge' style or the 'claw style'.

I also think the Abarth has the same 16' wheels as the dynamic as standard, but with a titanium colour?

The Stilo would look nice on 18's though if you thought the extra effort was worth it;)

Which model are you going for[?]

53 3d Stilo Dynamic JTD - Sprint Blue

It's the 1.4 6 speed active I believe.....
I think 17's sounds favourite then uh? Don't really fancy doing arch work on a brand new car. :(
What sort of prices are the Fiat alloys then minus tyres? (I can probably get the tyres cheaper elsewhere)

Cheers

Nick

I was offered a set, with tyres, for £650, not bad as I think the wheels alone are around £500:D

I would have upgraded as an optional extra (£280 on a dynamic) but my car was already in stock:(

And directline won't let me change them now as thats classed as a mod:(

My 16's aren't too shabby tho[8D]

It was Gainmanor fiat who offered me the 17's for £650, so use that as a starting point for your haggling! If I were you I'd consider getting the sideskirts put on from the factory too, they look ace, and are another thing I wish I had:(

good prices for wheels here!!!!

I have the 17inch knife blades and they look wicked!!!!also good because the spokes are widely spaced so you can get your hands right in the wheel to clean - get them looking new every time!!!!!!

Other extras/options to consider that id wished i'd asked for:
Interior mats
Stilo sill protectors (kick plates)
Rear spoiler

Fiat Stilo 3dr 1.6 Dynamic, Sassi grey with 17's

NickA, FIAT will try and charge you about £500 but with some haggling and playing dealerships off against each other I got them for £350, without tyres of course.

James, my wheels are a pig to clean too!:(

FIAT Stilo Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really. Rear Roof Spoiler,
Sill Protectors, Aluminium Foot Pedals, Eibach 30mm Drop Springs.

the gaps between the main spokes (if u know what I mean) are ok, its the gaps within each spoke which are too narrow:(

I know that makes little sense, but if you've got a similar set you'll know what I'm on about;)

That's it, we're talking the same language!

Made any decisions then Nick? Like TC says, you should be able to barter a bit off, esp if your buying a car at the same time!

Oh and like I said before, I'd def consider the sideskirts if I were u? They look sweeeeeet:D

They sure do!

So when you getting some James?

Ah, when I change my insurance co at the end of the year[}:)]

Might go for some 17's then too, then follow your lead and flog my old wheels on ebay;)

Well,I just put a deposit on a 1.4 active today for her.Again,as they have a limited number in the country then I'm limited to colour choice. It was a toss up between the metallic black and the metallic grey (The name escapes me at the mo!!) but I think black has won (Even if it'll be a pig to keep clean!!!)
I like the Abarth type alloys (But she doesn't).The ones she likes are the thin spoke 17 inch ones that are in the Brio magazine but they'll be a pig to clean!! (I have 18in OZ Super Leggeras on my Impreza and they'll be even worse than them to clean I guess!!!!)
Another thing that I bought at the dealers today was the fascia panel which fits in the upper glove box to allow the Blaupunkt A09 cd changer to be installed in there.Fiat wanted to charge me £350 for the privelege (Changer, fascia panel and wiring connecter to link stereo to changer plus labour) but I declined as a friend of mine who works for Siemens can get me the A09 changer for £118 inc vat and delivery.I paid £25 for the fascia panel today and now need to locate the wiring connector (Anyone know anywhere on the web that sells em as fiat want £25 plus vat for a poxy cable!!!)
Thanks for the help so far guys!! :)

Cheers

Well, you can find a (poor quality) pic of mine in my profile!!!

Be carfull with the changer, there are two versions which appear identical, one works with the stilo and the other doesn't[:0]

That looks like a fairly fast minicab btw:D:D:D:D

James,
Can you gimme more info on this cd changer that you mention?? ie two identical units, one of which doesn't work....
I thought Blaupunkt only make one version of the A09 CD changer? Is that not correct? :(
Your car looks nice btw!! :D Is that sprint blue?

Cheers

Like stiloboy said..

The cheaper one doesn't work, I reckon they are probably identical really, just a chip in the non fiat one telling it not to work with the visteon HU, so they can then screw us for lots of £££ for the 'fiat' unit, I'm sure you could chip the non fiat unit (in a similar way that playstations are) so it would work, but its a case of finding someone to do this:(

Anyone know the different serial numbers so Nick can check which version he has, Stiloboy, you got the No. off yours?

Cheers for the comp Nick, yes my car is indeed Sprint blue, I was a little unsure when I bought it, thought I maybe should have gone for a metallic, but I luurve it now:D
