I went to get some petrol a few days ago and unfortunately my petrol cap came completely off! I have now bought a replacement part and it is now ready to be fitted. Would any of you guys know how I can do this? It looks like something needs to be detached from the back of the fuel cap but I'm not sure how to access this (possibly from the boot?). Well that locks slightly different to the one one my 1.6 but Ime pretty sure if you get under the rear wing and remove the inner arch liner you will find some fixings holding in place the assembly simply unbolt and bolt on new one it seems that the main reason the flap snaps off is they get stiff in operation just keep the new one lubricated now and again and it should last longer than the original

Thank you for your reply PNL. So I need to get at the back of it from underneath the wheel arch? Do I need any special tools? Thank you!

All you will need If my memory serves me is a 10mm spanner bit of a fiddle takes around 10/15mins to do good luck and like i said dont forget to lubricate the flap pivots
