you also seem to forget that these dealerships that are so shocking, will service fiats one month, then will change and be a citroen or vauxhall garage... do they suddenyl become good dealerships just cos they drop the FIAT badge?

Tempting fate here, but quite possibly the answer to the above is yes, they do become good dealerships....... I should qualify that by saying that maybe they get better manufacturers support..... but that's a devils advocate point on my part:devil: In all probability it's unlikely that a change of manufacturer will change how things are done. Leopards and spots...... :D

Ahhh, the joys of hire cars:rolleyes:

I was actually quite happy to get a hire car; Fiat UK approved a hire car as the warranty bits for the Stilo were likely to be a while in coming :(

Arnold Clark are the local Fiat/Alfa dealers and the company have a car hire branch in Aberdeen. I got a '05 plate Nissan Almera 1.5s  What a hunk of junk :yuck: But to make matters worse when I went down from the office to go home after the keys ahd been dropped off I found the folowing:
1. N/S rear tyre down to 12psi
2. No screenwash
3. Car not cleaned properly, inside or out (n)

I'm not given to using "colourful metaphors" on the old dog and bone but the dealer got an earful - I just don't understand how another branch of the same compamy can essentially shaft another for a sub-standard car hire.
It was also unsafe in the state delivered, but it transpired that it was the only hire car that was available :bang:

So I took it home after sorting the tyres (all were the wrong pressures) and screenwash...... fingers crossed my replacement parts turn up for the Stilo sooner than expected :worship: I don't think I could handle being an Almera driver for more than a weekend ;)
