My instrument cluster seems to be on its way out and I was wondering if the newer white instrument clusters can be fitted to a car which originally had the older ones.

I've noticed a few changes between them apart from the colour
- the displays are slightly different
- the needles are slightly different
- the placement of some of the icons is different

Will the newer ones work with my car? Ofc knowing that they have to have the revs for the petrol engine. It's a 2005 1.4

I'm guessing but............

Assuming that they are the same physical size, if you can get sight of the wiring diagrams, and see that the it didn't change between the two different styles, then your in with a good chance, as it could mainly be down to artist design/aesthetics. However if there is extra functionality on the later wiring loom then the connection/s could be different, or have different supply orientations on the pins, and it wouldn't work.

Could be worth a quick 'acid test' if said panel wasn't too much wonga. Or just get a good example of the older one :)

I'm not sure about this, but if you try it, let us know. And you would need to get cluster with LESS km reading than you have now. Then do Proxi aligment with diag

My first cluster was the same as yours ( Picture on the right ).
I bought a abarth display from the scrapyard , just plug and play.

Same with the newer dials. You do need a proxyalligment

Ok so can confirm all the clusters (including the white facelift and Abarth clusters) are just plug and play only needing a proxi to set the Kms and all the functions.

Of course abarth clusters won't show tire pressures, etc. as they don't have the sensors required.

True, didn't occur to me to mention that, thought it was obvious that it was only for petrol engines due to higher rev counter.
