Wondered if anyone uses rubber sump plug washers on their Stilo (I use the copper efforts but just wondered....).

The standard sump plug washer is metal with an integral rubber seal on the inside diameter (known as a Dowty washer).

If you used just a rubber washer; tightening the plug would crush and deform it, and it would probably be squeezed out of the gap between the mating surfaces.
