A brand new fault on this car. Last night, driving on the highway, at night, and suddenly the engine cut out and flashed an ASR open loop connection fault.
No warning.
Lights stayed on.
Restarted the engine right away then a few minutes later, same thing. Repeated this maybe a dozen times just to get home.
Took a test drive today to start diagnosing it:
Plugged in Innova 3100 OBDII tester.
I got:
P0340 - camshaft sensor
U1600 - immobiliser
Tried the spare key; same thing.
Test drive for 30 mins monitoring codes and it cut out several more times.
Reset and cleared the ECU via OBDII
-All DTCs cleared, MIL went out.
-Test drove for about an hour no problem. Didn't cut out once.
I'm not confident that this has fixed the issue so I'm posting here in case anyone has any recent experience of this issue and how they fixed it.
I'll be test driving it again tomorrow in the hope that it will reoccur so I can fix it properly. I have a long road trip planned next week and do not want this happening!
Thanks in advance!
