First of apologies if this info is out there but I need clarification and my technical understanding is not at the expert level. I have scoured the forum but couldn't quite find the precise info
I have a 53 plate Stilo Estate and my key fob is not working. What I have managed to establish so far is:
A new key from fiat is coming in at £350 so I am desperate to find a fix as its driving my wife crazy and she'll stab me with the key pretty soon.
My question is therefore, can I buy a secondhand working key on ebay for £15 (I checked) and replace the circuit board (pcb?) and have it reprogrammed? The transponder in my key is separate to the PCB (I think that's what its called).
Many thanks for any advice. I am truly lost!!

- New battery check!
- Signal from door lock and unlock is working but boot unlock is broken and is messing everything up.
- The hatch/door release on bar won't physically work. A key is needed to open all doors including the boot.
- Boot stopped opening at the same time as the key failed.
- The key is a three button affair in blue.
- When plugged into the ECU (I think that's what the technical said) he could operate the boot mechanism with the press of a button.
