General Software upgrade??

Folks
Can anybody shed some light on the Stilo software subject, apart from the Sat Nav, I cant think what else this might effect re cars performance. Im prob being pretty ignorant but any advise peeps.
Just got 1.8 Dyna, only done 200 miles so surely I dont need to worry about sw upgrade?

I'm quite happy to share in your ignorance and am interested myself. Being in the IT industry I'm aware that a lot of software upgrades are to fix problems (or is that just the Beast of Redmond?), but a few make useful additions too.

I'd also be interested to know how you tell what version you currently have - does the car have a boot-up sequence when you turn the key ??

God, I just had an awful though.... Microsoft didn't write the Stilo software did they?

I think software upgrades have only previously been discussed in relation to the Abarth model, and it's SatNav system. In this case the current version is displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen on power-on.

I'm not sure whether updates are available for other models, but I doubt it.

Baldybloke. The only things I know re the start up is that it does some routine checks and then says 'Check ok', then away I go. Sounds fine 2me, untill something goes wrong anyway I suppose, lets be positive NOTHING will go wrong!! Dito re Microsoft!![:0]

The Stilo software can't have been written by Micro$haft as you can restart a Stilo without having to close all open windows...

OK.............. so what is the current latest software version. I took delivery of my wifes car in May, and would like to check if it is current, Also, if it is not, will the dealers do the upgrade as part of the warranty, and is it worthwhile ??[?]

Had my software upgraded today. The version is now 9.7

You can check your version by looking at the bottom right of the screen when the system turns on. A little white number is the version.

You just need to ask your dealer for a (free) upgrade.
