New Battery about 3 weeks ago all working fine. Today no dashboard working, no lights on it, fuel gauge, temp, etc.

All other electrics fine, electric windows, lights etc.

Any ideas what it cold be, clock on dash only thing on shows 12:00.

Thanks

Clock still working and yellow air bag off sign showing (it is turned off) but nothing else on dash...any ideas?

I have had a searched around other posts about Stilo dash failure and seems a few things it could be. Is it likely now the clock has dissapeared on the dash, all that remains is the yellow passenger airbag light that my new battery is to blame as I have seen posts that say the car shuts stuff down? I'll try to get to a garage this week as no idea what wrong.

Sounds very much like your dash has died, although mine did use to work when it felt like it but then i picked up a new one on ebay.

These can be repaired i believe and i think there have been posts lately.

used car properly for first time in a week, after 40 mins driving dash all came on ! Does this mean new battery under powered ? 50 ah came out new one is 45 and was recommended as ok by car parts 4u

I have a 60A in my 1.6 and would rather have bought a 74A.
Edit: My dashboardproblems would vanish after the circuitboard warmed up during a longer trip. The only thing that solved my problem was a "new" prefacelift Abarthcluster:rolleyes: I'm a happy camper now:D

a 45Ah battery is definately too small for a Stilo - a 74 Ah fits in the battery tray and is the better choise, i guess your electric power steering will switch off rather quickly because of voltage dropping....

I take it from this it may not be the battery then? Are you saying could still be the dash that needs replacing eventually as 40 mins into dirve dash all came on which follows the circuit warming up theory too?

Off to garage Friday to see if they know. Problem is seems to be a few things highlighted on here as potential issues.

Thanks

Not looking good car left 5 hrs between using yesterday and dash fine. 2 hours driving in total.

Over night, not used for about 12 hours, dash dead again except for clock and airbag light. Is this now very likely new dash needed and not battery power ?

Thanks for any advice

All websites recommended a 44ah or 45ah battery for my 1.4 Stilo. I tried at least 5 and they all quoted the same size.

I think the garage will advise a more powerful one too, like everyone here!

Will a Fiat indy garage likely source me a reconditioned dash? I presume that will cost me less than £200? What does a new one cost?

Thanks

With respect Hornet, it's been said loads of times on this forum that Stilos need the most powerful battery you can afford. Several forum members have reported how various electrical gremlins were cured after fitting a 75Ah battery.

I can't belive you fitted a battery even less powerful than the original!

I know Yellow Peril, fair comment.

Garage tested everything said it is dash failure. Examiner couldn't communicate with dash also. Doesn't recommend a reconditioned one or new one! Said new would be between £500 and £700. Recon is my risk, he doesn't mind removing and replacing unit for this up to me!

Is the cluster display easy to get out for me to do?

I was planning on getting rid in a year or 2 as I'm on 83k, but didn't know the best news of today that it would still get through MOT with no dash, as that is due in a month. Is that 100% correct?

Lastly I asked about connector behind dash and he said it is clamped on and wouldn't work loose, said not checked as it would either be on or off, not intermitant.

Any comments on any of the above please? Also said wouldn't be the 44ah battery :)

Thanks

Yes it does.
I had similar problems and solved them with a "new" Abarth prefacelift cluster from Yellowstilo.

Mine would work perfectly after the temperature inside the cabin got high enough. Probably a bad solderjoint or a hairline crack in the circuitboard.

Where on here is the most simple to follow instrument cluster removal instructions please anyone? I'v e come across a couple but want to follow the best one.
