Hi all

Got my 24k service done just over a week ago now, cost me £227.47 from my main Fiat dealership, all i had done was the standard service and no other extra costs.

How does this compare to anyone else whos had this done, i personally thought it was a tad on the steep side, but paid it purely as i dont trust my car with anyone else other than Fiat, as other garages ive taken my car to have never done anything to a Stilo before, and i dont approve of mine being the test case.

Look forward to seeing how much i was ripped off!

The abarth is the most expensive to service though. :( They quoted me £349
for my last service even though the car had only done 20140miles it was it's 3rd service hence I went to my local Fiat/Alfa specialist. :D & they did it all in for £160.

I asked this am bout the 24k service... my local fiart deeeeler said bout £180 (but did not say ex or inc vat....)

I had my cheapest service in 14 years of car ownership....£85 12k service on 1.4 Active. Souls in Milton Keynes. Was quoted £135 by Luton & £180 by Watford dealers for same job.

my 12K service cost £90 from a fiat dealer and I have just been quoted £178+vat for 24K service from the same dealer. He said a car of its age and mileage (19k) probably wouldnt need an air filter change yet!

Get this, he said if you get a cheaper quote from another fiat dealer, he'll speak to the gaffer about beating it.

Guess whos using all his free minutes tomorrow!

Anyone know where I can get a service manual? I'm clocking up motorway miles at a rate of knots and was planning on servicing myself every other service. Haynes don't seem to sell a manual. There are a number of CDs on ebay but not sure if they are genuine.

It's funny you should say about the cd's off Ebay, I've just bought one. If it's any good I'll send you a copy. (y)

I paid £175 for my 24k service, JTD with A/C, at GMD in Durham.

I got £20 off for supplying my own oil, as I still have stacks in the garage from when Tesco were selling Castrol GTD Magnetec for £6.50 for 4.5litres :D

With a car as technical as yours your better getting a garage to do the job. Although worth finding a good independant! And remember any dealer can potentially service your car, so if you know say a good Ford garage thats well priced in your area its worth asking them. It can't affect your Fiat warranty, and you could save a few bob.

I guess the main problem with self service is it's going to hit the cars value, not having a full set of stamps, also how would you reset the service indicator?

Another point to bear in mind is that a visual paintwork inspection at service time seems to form part of the paint warranty agreement.

Stiloboy is right though, despite what Fiat may tell you, another dealer is able to service your car.
