Has anyone had experience in fitting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to the Stilo Abarth engine? Being aware that the 2.4 20v lump has relatively limited scope for performance enhancement I am considering using an adjustable regulator to increase fuel pressure slightly, accompanied by induction and exhaust improvements.
However before I start messing with the fuel pressure I would be grateful for any educated opinions on the installation of an FSE boost valve or similar.
After a little on-line research I have formed this installation plan, any advice would be welcomed; (1) splice the fuel return line with a T-piece to allow reading of the current fuel pressure using a gauge. (2) Feed the high pressure inlet on my new valve with the return line from the engine. (3) Feed the tank side of the pipe to the return outlet on my new valve. (4) Splice the vaccum line exiting the inlet manifold by the dipstick with a T-peice to allow the new valves vaccum line to feed from manifold pressure. (5) Turn ignition to MAR and raise new pressure figure (how much being optimum I'm unsure so far).
Hope this is of interest to someone, am I on the right track..... ?
