Here is link to gpsunderground forum.

EDIT: Deleted virus infected link

I just got the file from the link in the original first post. No virus in it - probably just AVG being over-sensitive and giving a false positive, probably due to the way the file has been packed.

I also recheck with various AntiVirus software. No virus found. Probably false alarm from free software.

Decided to post again and add the install instructions.

12.2 firmware is attached to this post. I've just scanned it with Symantec Endpoint Protection before uploading came up clean.

UPDATING PROCEDURE Connect Nav(Italian to English translation)
--------------------------------------
1) By car turn off the Connect from off switch.
2) Insert the software update and wait for the appearance of the window "CD Error".
3) Turn off the Connect from off switch.
4) After a moment, turn the ignition key from Connect.
5) The display shows the message: "FLASHER PROGRAM" with the sequence of operations that are happening.
6) Press in quick succession and without interruption the following buttons: low 3-4-5-6 from the roadside and then the fast forward button, above.
7) A double flash of the keys across the front of the confirmation of the recognition sequence.
8) After a few seconds, the sequence of operations is implemented until loading is complete.
9) The CD is ejected automatically, remove it.
10) The reappearance of the logo of the car, turn on the Connect button on / off.
11) The transaction was completed: Connect is operating.
Where for any reason (eg incorrect introduction of the sequence of keys), the update process fails, the system automatically turns off and on again with no more see the logo of the car.
In this situation (with black screen), type the key sequence of point 6) and wait for the appearance of a status message of the update, in which case the display could delay a few seconds.
Subsequently, the device will repeat the sequence twice to power on / off, and then goes off completely.
It should then start from Step 4).

If anyone does update please post back and give us all an update, ease of install, differences to v9.8 etc.

Hi ,

I cant help thinking that this update isnt for the stilo connnect nav.
If you look in stu's post for the translated instructions on line 6 it says to push " Press in quick succession and without interruption the following buttons: low 3-4-5-6 from the roadside and then the fast forward button".
We dont have a low button do we and buttons are they referring to for 3,4,5,6 , the fitted in the croma has those i think.

Cheers

Shady,

Can you Tell me the benfiits of the update ?

Any new features? Gui change? Does it recall cd/mp3 location

No as I havent tried it.

Itailian to English translation might not be very good, perhaps in Itailian it doesnt mean "low"?

Online translators are always difficult to understand, especially for anything technical.

"Low" from the translation could mean the Lower row of 12 buttons. I read on a Dutch or Bulgarian or somewhere Stilo forum a while ago that there's a sequence for the Stilo that involves pressing 3, 4, 5, 6 then "TEL". It said the front panel lights should flash and then an update that had permanently stopped at 50% might continue. I've never seen this confirmed anywhere though. I've never seen a sequence using the FF (>>) button.

@ Keviwal....... I tried the 3, 4, 5, 6, "TEL" sequence on your old dead CN+ last week. The front panel lights flashed, but the update still wouldn't work. (n) I suspect if the process works at all, it has to be done immediately the update fails.

Davren,

Cheers for trying!!
Are we still on for the end of the month?
I cant help but thinking that update wouldnt work on stilo connect navs.
Why would Fiat release an update for something they no longer supply in in new cars?
Or is it a "hacked version" for another type on connect nav unit?

Cheers for now,

v12.2

gpsunderground says YES

Advert says NO

Surely someone reading this has the b*lls to try v12.2 on their CN+?

Not me I'm a whimp. :D

Well i bricked mine the other week and it is currently with Davren!!
I think its best left well alone if i,m honest, i,m sure that there would be very little difference in the display etc , if it aint broke dont fix it !!!!!!

Cheers for now,

Read thread on GPSUNDERGROUND.COM thay say that 12.2 is for Stilo and 12.3 for Croma and Bravo. With this update you can use RT3 G2 maps.

Reading the thread linked to by sasa71 above, nobody there has successfully installed it in a Stilo.

I'm still firmly planted in the whimp's camp on this one.

Soooooo did anyone try this ??? I read the thread on gps underground just to see if there was any updates.......................there wasnt.
If this update wasn't compatible with our connect navs then surely it wouldn't even start would it??????

Cheers for now
