Wonder who's got the highest milage on their Stilo's, any model. Be intersting for everyone i'm sure if they give a basic running report of problems between certain milages.

I've got 16,500miles under the 1.2 so far, only engine fault was the reported engine fault, which was reprogrammed by garage, although personally i noticed no problem with the car before or after.

Just about to tip over 30k in the next week.

Just found a new problem. Drivers side mirror heater has failed - hadn't noticed it before yesterday when it was frosty.

Kev1 - they might be cheap to buy but you'll lose it when you come to sell it on.

You'll only loose out if you plan on changing the car within 3 years of buying it, in which case you obviously have too much money or not enough sense in which case you deserve to loose money! :p

if your worried about resell value, the simple matter is, you dont buy a fiat

upto 32k now, been pretty much issue free since the last service really (march last year), only had to get the clutch slave cylinder thing resolved during may time

if you buy it cheap to begin with you can't really expect cast iron reisiduals a couple of years down the line.Besides when buying a fiat (with your eyes open) you half expect crappy residuals but you offset it from the hopefully good deal in purchasing it to begin with.

Never bought new for both the Stilo or Brava.

Got the Stilo at 1 1/2 years old (aug 03) and 13k miles. Cost £7000 compared to list price at new of £12800. To loose nearly £6000 in that period of time. you definetly dont want to buy new. Great for the 2nd hand buyer though :)

With the brava, list price was £10300. Picked it up at 2 1/2 years old (april 04) and 18k miles. Cost £4300. This one lost £6000 as well.

could probably argue the brava held its value better, but thats a side note ;)

I didnt buy the car for resale value, I bought it for value now (2k less cost and lower milage then competing models of same age) and enjoyment now

Got my 1.2 Stilo pre-reg for £6488, bit of a bargain as they cost £10,600 when i got it a year ago.

But i plan on keeping it 4-6 years, by then it will have been paid off a couple of years, it should still be in reasonable condition, and i'll have put a good milage on it. If its still going well i may keep it longer.
