Anyone replaced the undertray thing (under the engine??). Just noticed that mine is cracked and has a hole in it?

Cheers

D

That's what i call customer service!!!

I was just going to Duct Tape it back together, what do you think?

Well it shows that Fiat aren't the only ones with bad dealerships...although we all knew that. We didn't go back. It was the first and last time we have used a dealership for servicing and only did because it was a discounted one after we bought the car. For the record, they claimed it didn't go in with one, I love that fact because if they looked at their records we had only bought the car from them a few days before :D

Back to the topic:
Well the only thing that the undertray does is a) stop any oil leaks from getting directly onto your drive (etc.) and b) stop any foreign objects getting to the engine but nothing substantial. Hence I feel duct tape will do the job just fine.

It's not like anybody can see it and I doubt a full new undertray is necessary tbh.

My undertray is hanging down, and by looks of it one of the bolts is missing!

However, think it came about when I bottomed out the Stilo a few months ago [pre-Eibachs, I hasten to add!?] - hammering down a hill at some obscene speed trying to catch up a CL55 seemed like a good idea at the time, lol. The noise inside the car was intense, sounded like i had shattered the engine.....

Will get dealership to pop it back on next time it has to go in :)

Stuart - Mine had a hole about 4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide in the front corner on the drivers side - plastered that with duct tape!

Left side - 3 screws, one at the front, one level with the front of the wheel, one level with the rear of the wheel approx - the screw at the rear of the wheel had fallen off mine - put a cable tie through it - SORTED!!!

Cheers

Ps - I work in tech support, that's why i've got so much time on my hands!!

It also happende to me.. I bought a new one and closed the space between two plastics with a home made alu. part.. I should say, every stilo owner with open air filter, sohuld close the space between two plastic parts, if you do that you dont need to worry for your filter anymore because it wont get wet. (y)

I think the undertrays are breking due to the poor road surfaces now. There are hust too many potholes. It takes the p**s!!!
Also, i think it is there for aerodynamic purposes. The stilo is very neat and tidy underneath. Maybe its to do with the testing at Ferrari!!!!!!! (lol)

I keep banging the undertray on mine over rough surfaces - even when I'm going slow. Plus on those stupid speed bumps that you can straddle it catches everytime.
I don't think it's actually bolted on, it looks more like some kind of press in clip.

I bought one for mine as apparently only the 1.8 and above Stilo's get it .... Bit of a pain to fit with no ramps as well

Thought it was best as I'm sure I severely shortened the life of my last car by not replacing the sump cover when it fell off
