Crank or rpm sensor won't have anything to do with ASR
Well it's always going to be difficult when there's hardly any descripion of the fault
been having loads of failures with my car in regards to asr n it peeing me off.
"Doctor, I'm ill. What's wrong with me" and send it by email
i think all these issues happened when i got my discs changed n cv pump or cv boot- could changing these cause any problems if the garage werent aware of certain fiat specifics
Ahhh... now we have the info.
Check that the wheel speed sensor (for the side the CV boot was replaced) has been refitted/connected correctly.
Dave.
That would be ABS tho Dave wouldnt it..:chin:
is this one of the main reason the asr failure comes up?
if the cv boot wasnt changed what else could of been the reason for this issue?
I'd have thought this would only generate an ABS error (maybe followed by ASR since ASR can't work without ABS)It's one of the reasons. Although the most frequent reason for ASR failure is a faulty or incorrectly adjusted brake light switch. That usually accompanies ABS failure and (if fitted) cruise control failure though.

I've always assumed a non rotating wheel must generate an ABS error whereas 4 wheels rotating out of sync will generate an ASR error (like with wrong sized tyres) :chin:
Brake switch will of course disable cruise but why should it cause an ABS & ASR fault to be displayed (I'm talking in your case now)I had it when I drove to Greece earlier this year, ASR Failure, ABS Failure and Cruise Control Failure. I wasn't too fussed about the ASR and ABS, but wanted the Cruise Control for the Autoroutes, Autobahns and Autostradas. Stopped in a service area in France to adjust the brake switch.
