Will try this tomorrow, spent over an hour in the sodding snow today trying every baud rate setting possible and also had the com3 modem issue which is slightly confusing. Annoyed and hence the reason the I'm still looking at gone midnight as my local garage hasn't a clue about Fiat Ulysse's.

can someone recomend what usb plug to buy as ive tried one and pc wont look at it,i have full version of multiscan.

You need the code from Fiat and to go into it under body computer IIRC

Hi not sure if posting on the correct forum, but have purchased the fiat multiecuscan, and a vagkkl cable ( the one with the switch built into it) when i plug it into the car get message connection failed, check cable/ interface, i have the ignition on and i get a red led light on the cable but thats it. not sure if its a dodgy cable as there seem to be a lot of them on ebay, where mine came from. Or do i need to adjust the settings in my computor. windows 7 home premium, 2.1ghz processor. The only other query which may be related is i cant get into the advanced settings to adjust the latency in my device manager? i get a message" you must have write privilages in the registry for this device in order to modify the device settings" ??? any clues bwhat to do after looking thro about 20 pages on the subject here now totally lost, thanks in advance Alan.
pps why do you should you have to cut, solder or modify a cable, just to make the bloody thing work, i mean you would not go out for a meal then be expexted to cook it yourself would you !! rant over cheers chaps

try pressing ctrl and f10 to conect

I had to change the baud rate on my PC to get mine to connect. I forget what speed it should be but it is covered in the documentation.

Hi set the baud rate to 3800, tried again, everytime i try and connect get message i need a elm 327, double checked port settings, all seems ok i even tried all 4 swith positions, no luck, so have a look on ebay for a elm cable, lets hope i dont get a crap one, really annoying though:bang:

The update history for MES from v1.0 to v1.3 is shown on Yani's website here: http://www.multiecuscan.net/ReleaseHistory.aspx

After v3.5 of FES, I believe there was v3.6, v3.61 and v3.62 but that history isn't shown on the site. I doubt anyone would remember the actual differences for those versions.

can I use FES on windows 7 64 bit? Are there any specific drivers I need? If I want to reset the service indicator, do I need to use one of the coloured adaptors - i have them and a VAGcom cable.

If you are using a different computer you will need to ask for a new licence key to use on a different laptop as the software is only available for use on one laptop/pc on a users licence number unless you have a multiplex licence., so yes you will need to contact them to request chenge of hardware key for new licence key.
And yes you will need to use one of the colour cables to reset service indicator not sure which one as I use a modified elm327,, but until you get a new licence key for new laptop you will not be able to carry that out as it requires registerd multiscan licence

Yes it will work with Windows 7.

You need to connect to the Body Computer(ECU) to reset the service indicator, to do that you'll need an ELM327 interface and you'll find the drivers you need on the link below.

Hi all my engine management light is on and I know it wants a lambda sensor, but I can't remember which one, also I want to reset my service light if I buy a cable from ebay will it do both jobs or will I need different ones, also if somebody could find the correct cable I need and post the link I would be greatly appreciative thank you.

It's on the FES forum/site. However reading this will give you a good background knowledge on how it all works. It's free info, make the most of it

I downloaded the software today. I haven't got a vagcom cable yet but it seems pretty good.
Now just how to actually USE the software?!

Have a poke around in Simulation mode first to find where things are then go over the instructions again.
