Hey I recently bought a Gorgeous modified fiat stilo 1.2 2002 active (pics to follow soon)

first car n all Key Fob is confusing me.

One button to open car..working
One button to lock car... working
one button to open just boot... not working?

Not sure if its a setting in the car menu or something but that button wont work for me.

any suggestions?

thanks

There is a setting on the menu that can turn it on and off but also there is a solenoid in the tailgate that operates the boot opening off the fob..and that could be dead just as mine was..try setting the menu first and if you have no joy then investigate the solenoid next..(y)

i assume you point the fob at the tailgate light and hold the open button down for about 5 seconds? or more.. (reception antenna is easily damaged at the rear, hence you should try to aim a bit sideways; a single click would not open the tailgate - it requires a long continuous signal)

security setting does control "independent boot" that is if the boot always remains locked (even if the car is opened) it is quite a useful feature :) you can also enable driver door open option (1 click opens just the driver’s door, 2 clicks open all doors) this is, again, very useful in certain areas of e.g. London

Re: solenoid (remotely or manually activated) is the same.. so if your tailgate operates when you touch the release button on the tailgate itself – solenoid works; if you have to open the boot with your key in the key hole.. (manually that is) and security independent setting is disabled.. then solenoid has failed..

To summarise:
check solenoid function - if works.. problem is with user (press and hold open button on remote) or with the key fob itself (if pressed too hard the little switch can disintegrate - check the little red light is flashing when you press the button)

Does this work?

When I had it set, one click opened drivers door, but no matter how many more clicks the other doors didnt unlock. Just flashing lights instead :( (n)

Does it have to be a quick doube unlock click like the double click when locking to enguage the deadlocks

quick double click (helps if you press it 3 times though) locking is unaffected.. single click locks all doors, double click engages dead locks and locks all doors

No no. I think people miss understood me. What I mean is when I unlock car on drivers door only operation, I can never get the other doors to unlock unless I press unlock button in the car.

Is this normal? How do you unlock all the doors? Is it like dead locking, where you press unlock twice quickly? As I don't think I was pressing it quickly when I done it.

no it is not.. a single click (on remote open button) should open driver door only, a quick double click (on remote open button) should open all the doors

By heck 12X you're spot on.

That feature is not mentioned anywhere in the manual so I've just gone to try it and it works (y)

if you keep button depressed ,electric windows should operate!(y)

And for us flash bast**ds the skywindow fully opens as well. Well handy on a hot day (not that we get too many of those in this country).

Hold down the lock button and windows aswell as skyroof should close(y)

Be warned do it all the times and eventually fob stops working................been there before have to reset the key by disconnecting the battery and all that

Yeah I've tried that in the past but I could never get it to work, but given that I disconnected the battery recently maybe it's time to try again?

I thought that showing off was the whole point of having the skywindow:slayer::cool::D
When closing it in the car park from several floors up maybe :spin:

..but I've always thought it rather fantastic when driving with it open

..or closed a night and watching the stars (lightning, fireworks or whatever) :slayer:
