Hi lads
I was wondering, I drive a 59kw variant of 1.9JDT
However, only around 80pk, I was wondering if anyone had experience perf tuning such car? And cost/gain?

I know someone who did a chip, however, he always has problems with clutch(I think he is on his 4th, with only 150 000km, that's less than 100k miles ;) ) And he wouldn't advise me a chip.
Any ideas?

Sell it and buy a 115hp JTD, then remap it, would be the cheapest way to gain considerably more power.

80HP goes like charm since it has little shorter gear ratio, and has little less fuel consumption in urban traffic. Rechipping will give you a little more performance that non-chipped 115HP will deliver. So, it's up to your choice.

Regarding your clutch, you probably have the same problem as I had on my JTD. It had engine oil leakage from 2 of 6 screws which hold flying dual-mass wheel. Screws must be removed, one at a time, cleaned (both screws and holes) and filled with Loctite, or some other temperature proof glue. You should also replace entire clutch set, it's very inexpensive for 80HP.

If you had your clutch replaced recently, and screws haven't been treated with Loctite, then I beleive you have all rights to call this service under warranty. They were supposed to do Loctite treatment in first clutch replacement.

My first new clutch died after less then 10.000 miles, and it was worn only from the inner side, the side which connects to the dual-mass wheel.

So, do it properly, and enjoy your JTD, it is not going that bad at all, and you can rechip it no problem, after fixing the clutch as written above.
