Last night when it was rather muggy about 9pm i noticed the drivers side window didnt drop at the same rate as the passenger, and didnt go up the same speed, then later at 3am this seemed better but not quite right. This morning it was just as muggy and again it still worked better than last night but is slower.

I noticed palm prints all over the window this morning that were smeared down, so it looks like someone tried to force the window down, could this mean its now out of position or that one of the expensive, not easy to replace parts is fooked?

The passenger was always slighty quicker but the drivers creeps down now. Its got better the last couple of days.

When i said out of position i meant twisted, like one side had dropped a touch therefore wasnt square in the frame, thats what the grubby smeared hand prints suggest.

I mean what a cretin for trying to break into a car like that, there was nothing on display, nothing actually in it, and i wouldnt expect windows to be pushed down that easily (unless its my mates old '87 ford fez pop) if at all. obviously didnt work and if they had no tools how were they going to nick the bloody thing.

Mindless tossers.

Anyhoo i bet to check everything i have to take off the door card

Rubber & Nylon Lubricant = Silicon Spray (y)

BBS, thing to do is to take the door card off as you suggested, and you'll see the window inspection holes (black caps). Lower the window to half way, and you'll see the window on the white clips; ensure the lugs are both clipped in. If they are, try manually moving them slightly to sort alignment out :)

Try Furniture Polish Spray

what ever you use if it contains silicon keep it off exposed paintwork.
