General New gearbox

I' ve just wake up|).
Yesterday about 8PM my friend and I started repacement of the gearbox in my Cinq. We were toiling over it for over 6hours[xx(], there are a lot of cables, hoses etc.
We finished succesfully a few minutes past 2AM. I got back home an hour after that.

Now I have 6 speed gearbx in my Cinq

Gears are very short

Now that's impressive! What's the benefit of a six-speed box in a Cinq? Shorter gears, better acceleration?

U've right - shorter gears and better acceleration, unfortunately it means higher fuel consumption[xx(]

I'm currently in the process of doing this!!!!!
How does it drive now? Did you put some bits from the old gearbox on the new one or modify the new one??
Whats the top speed - I wanna know 'cos I should eventually have a Turbo powering mine and being stuck at 100, revving the nuts off the car don't sound too good and i'll need to do something about it! (like putting the 5-speed differential on - anyone know if this would work???????? or is it a case of puutting a bigger 6th gear in in like the Novitec extended 5th gear or just a bigger standard one???)

I put some bits from old gearbox.

I drive it 150km/h ( it doesen't change but I've only 56HP engine) but the revs were higher. My friend had this gearbox in 1242 8v, he said that it was too short.

Do you mean that he had the gearbox in the car then eventually took it out because the gears were too short for the extra power - or did he make the gears longer?

yes, he had this gearbox and took it out... he put oryginal gearbox from "Seicento S"

Why did he put the gearbox from the Seicento S in it?? (I heard that the Seicento S's gearbox's final gear is 8% longer than normal - is that correct??) - could you put the Seicento S' final gear in the 6 speed box as the 6th gear???
