May i also add that the previouse posts made it sound very much like it was for small cars only. This was not the case.
There was the obligatory chaved corsa's/nova's(some of which blisterringly quick)/saxo's.
But also a fistfull of Impreza's and Evo's, a TVR, Escorts and Fiestas, Cossie's (with that fat prick), a Clio with Audi TT engine, CRX's, a Punto, Lancia Deltas, a Beetle (with 2.1 ltr engine), Skyline's (one of which did the 1/4 in 10.04), a Van and a Ford Cortina with twin turbo, supercharger (yes TT + supercharger) and Nitros oxide and was one of the fastest and craziest there.

Was a great day overall and a brilliant turnout.
I will deffo be going again (providing better route info can be gathered :p )

now if i had known that you wouldnt have been able to keep me away! i sooooo wanted to know what my stats would have been. but got the impression it was 70bhp or less. i am gutted. please tell me there is another one soon???

As the main problem with my escort is down to fuel tank/pump problems i was quite happy when a friend offered to make me a racing tank (hes made a few before) for pennies. (y)
So you never know i might get it up and runing.

Also i know someone who may be scrapping a Sierra with a coswarth engine in it. How much work would it take (bearing in mind it does not have to be road legal) t swap over the box and engine?? Too much i would of thought. :(

glad it wasnt just me. would be nice to know for definate, then all i need is someone else with the same spec or similar to race against. maybe it will tempt more ppl to go next time if there is no bhp limit. we could turn it into a ff york day, then next the world! ermm, sorry on the fourth can lol. :D

Most people were using bike helmets and scruitineering is VERY lax.

Ill only be a spectator unless i get the escort going in which case RUN IT INTO THE GROUND (y)

No passengers allowed at York, m'afraid. If she won't get out, you don't run!

I'm not so sure about the lax scrutineering, as long as the car can do 1/4 mile in a straight line without falling apart it's ok - not like a track day.

They insisted on covered up arms when we were there too.

Next time you're all going, if I'm off (have been working all weekend) I'll come along :)

Skyline cinq, you got to have the best cinq going! I haven't laughed, so much in ages. :D I'm glad you all had a laugh up york (y)

That number plate is genius!
Thanks for the comments.
I would like to point out that you are allowed DIESEL cars as a friend of mine ran his Rover 200 TD with NOS on the day & acheived a 15.3 1/4 mile time.

The cars will be split into the different catagories, you will see this if you go to the web site: www.yorkraceway.com the Cinq is in the 1600cc or below with no Turbos or NOS...these are called 'The Pocket Rocket Class' (y)

Most of those Graphics on my car are made on magnetics so i can take them off whenever i want, so don't scratch your head if you ever see the car with no graphics on  (y)

The Number plate was made up by me on the day as a **** take, but i'm sure that it really does exsist though :D
