Here one for you guys. New to the sight need some help. Got a 2004 plate scudo diesel 2.0 HDI that wont start no injection pulse. Only fault code is phase position sensor. Checked with oscilloscope perfect wave form. No cabling faults to the ECU. Bear in mind this engine has been jet washed. Changed the ECU as a complete kit with key and immobiliser control module, key reader and ECU. Still wont start still no pulse to the injectors. Checked the fuel pressure at the rail 300 bar so that is good. Checkes all the sensors including coolant temp sensor.
Now the vehicle used to start on easy start no longer does. I know this is damaging to the engine with prolonged use and not sure if the damage is finally done. Also checked the earths to the main EDC module and there is voltage getting there.

Any ideas?

Wondering if anyone has a manual on this or a link to a site with an online manual.

If fault remains phase sensor, then the valve timing is probably incorrect. The phase (cam shaft) sensor is used to comfirm cam shaft position. It is compared with the tdc (rpm) sensor. If valve timing goes out then the phase sensor will be flagged up as an error. Why was engine pressure washed? Alternatively if the tdc sensor fails it sometimes causes a phase sensor fault as the sensor is putting out a reading when the rpm sensor isnt.

Come back with more info.

Not sure the owner just decided to pressure wash it. This was the only theory that i could come up with. The valve timing may have been knocked out from the jolt of starting it on easy start. Not something i ever choose to do. The EDC cannot get the correct signal for the cam position to start the point of injection therefore no injection pulse.
There is a new camshaft sensor on it and checked all the cabling. This is the only idea I could come up with.

Thanks for the reply
Chris
