stop start not working

The stop start facility does not work on my 2 month old 95HP diesel Qubo, it did not work after about 2 weeks of ownership.

The dealer could not find a fault apart from charging the battery overnight(I do regular long runs, so the battery should be fully charged anyway), the stop start worked once on the way home from the dealers(who really didn't want to know!), & has not worked for 3 weeks since.

The engine also revs above idle when going from 4th gear to neutral. Also the revs go up just before the clutch bite point when in gear & foot off the accelerator. is this normal?

Re: stop start not working

So are you going from 4th to neutral and then coasting ? And yes it will pick the revs up when you let the clutch up its an anti stall system

Mine doesn't seem to work on my Punto 2013. I've only had it a day so not certain yet but it doesn't seem to want to.

Only noticed the 4th to neutral Rev up, by accident,i thought I had blipped the accelerator, I hadn't , revs up on its own when clutch released, repeatable most of the time, not sure it's a fault, just odd

Are you getting any messages on the dash ? And I know it's a daft question but I take it you doing the right things when you pull up ie out of gear foot off the clutch ?

No dashboard messages, in neutral, clutch out when stopped, engine never stops, A previous qubo I had with start stop worked fine(was the 75HP version)

Re: stop start not working

I phoned the dealers this morning and they advised an overnight charge which they were happy to do for me.

It doesn't seem like this helps from what you've said or in your case.

I'd be inclined to get in touch with Fiat Customer Services, I think I may do this as well if a battery charge fails to rectify it.

Re: stop start not working

The dealer has fitted a new battery, under warranty, so far the stop/start is working as it should.

Glad to hear you've got it sorted it's amazing how sensitive the ibs is , let's hope fiats stop start isn't as finnicky as the minis that won't work if there's less than 5 litres of fuel in the tank !!

You can on a 500, no reason to think you can't on a Qubo.

The 2012 500 turns off permanently and will only come back on when switched on. You just have a yellow light on the dash telling you its off.

If like the early 500's then there is probably a software update to enable it to stay permanently off if required

Ask the dealer on your next visit.
