I think I need new bulbs for my headlights. Have been struggling to see for a while now and have just checked them. Being a new Fiat owner, thought I just needed to get used to them
I knowIi can get the bulbs at Halfords, can the staff there fit them too?
And what ones do I need? Looking at the lights, there are two circular bits, then indicators and then sidelights. The two outermost bits aren't working. Are they foglights? And one of the middle circular ones doesn't work. obviously that needs replacing. Sidelights and indicators are fine.
And the dealer told me the car had been through an MOT!.......

when you turn your lights onto the first setting thats the side lights, next setting is dipped beam, then when you push or pull the stalk thats main beam.

your best putting them on one setting at a time and seeing what works and what doesnt. then you know what you need to get when you go in. they should have a table or chart telling you which bulbs do which on every car.

halfords do fit but charge and in some cases you may have to book it in. if you have a motorworld near you they fit too free of charge, dont know about other places or motorfactors.

or you could just try yourself its not too hard!

Punto mk1 headlights are like candles.

What punto do you own ? sounds like a mk2

Maybe your incar headlight adjuster is turned down or your headlight aim isnt correct.

It's a mk2. The sidelight bits are like candles. The rest are circular halogen lights although I don't think they are. Going in to Days MK tomorrow so will get them to look at it.
Just one thing after another with this car. It's going in to another garage next week to have the brakes looked at, has just had a new wiper mechanism and new exhaust mounts and a gearbox stripdown and transmission bearing replaced.
What next? And I just got a bloody speeding ticket!

Yeah sounds like one of the headlights have blown the two outer ones are your full beams they only work if you pull stalk/indicator stick back to flash or forward for on constant..

Yep, it's a black one. Is that a bad luck coour or something? Like Black Cats?

Very tidy car now it's been cleaned up (I had to steam clean the seats as someone who had been in it before had really greasy hair! Euch!) Some of the upholstery has a few cigarette burns in but nothing too noticeable and the bodywork is ok for a 6 yr old car. No rust anywhere. I think the previous owner got rid as he knew it was going to cost him money. Shame it all got lumped with me though.

 Well, the black ones do seem to 'not have much luck' if you ask on Punto sports club they will tell you it's the COK (curse of klaxon) Which was a highly modded car, that broke.

But obviously, a car is a car, makes no difference what colour it is painted. If it seems that they have more problems, maybe it's because they are a popular colour...if they have more crashes, it's because it's dark outside and they are black.

I shouldn't have said anything, I don't know if you are a superstitious...but if you tell someone that something bad will happen, they will usually find a way to make it so.

So, No, I don't believe your car is cursed and she will be great when you stop putting fluids in the wrong places :D

:yuck:
That's nasty...train seats are always like that...ewwwww

Mine smelt of wet dogs and dirt when I got it. And no matter how much stuff I used to clean her, as soon as the sun shone in through the window....she warmed up and stunk again.
It doesn't smell now, but took me about a year to get rid of it fully.

side lights are 501's
dipped are 477's
not sure what the main beams are..i've never changed them, if your going to halfords to get them changed, buy the bulbs in golden packeging called "Superbright" they are £19.99 each, but buy on get one free, so effectivly £9.99 each normal bulbs are £8.49... so for £0.50 more you might as well get the super brilliance. I've got new black halo's on mine now, but I really need to get my butt in gear and get new white sidelights...cos they are orange compared to the LED's.

The car has gone to Days MK this morning. That man is a superstar:worship: Yes, he laughed at me, but he is going to fix it fr me today. Brake fluid change and new headlight bulbs. I'll just get what I'm given and be grateful for it! Probably going to cost me about £50 all in, so not bad really.
At least the trip to Winchester is still on tomorrow. Hurrah!:spin:
