I have a Fiat Punto mk1 1.2 16v 85bhp. I would very much like some more power under the hood.
My question is, is it possible to mount a Fiat Stilo 1.4 16V in my Punto, using the Punto gearbox?? Can i use the same engine brackets ass well??

I have heard that the Punto mk1 1.2 16V cylinderhead and cams is better than the one on the Stilo 1.4 16V, and that the Punto cylinderheads + cams, without any problem or modifications, can be fitted on the Stilo engine. Bringing the Stilo engine to around 100-105bhp(this is with the std ECU from the Punto 1.2 16V). Does anyone know if this is true???
I am a bit worried about to high compression, pistons driving to close to valves, mounting problems ect.

I think it'll work. Best put this on the Cinquecento/Seicento side, though, as people there have actually done it. Ideally, a remap, as the 1.4 won't "want" the same timing or fuelling as the 1.2. Use the factory timing tools and you should have no valve to piston issues.

so have punto people and panda people, thats why we have 2 sections for swaps that fit loads of cars, general tech section and tunning section. saves loads of thread all over the forum saying the same thing
