Technical Punto selecta problem help!

Hi everyone!

I own a Fiat Punto Selecta from 1996. A few days ago it just stopped working. Even though I gas up in D or R the car does not move at all! I took it to a dealer and I was told I had to change the entire clutch box. The price for the box they told me is 1600 EU. Another dealer however told me the price to change the clutch box is only 680 EU. I do not know what to believe anymore and I am not even sure the clutch box needs to be changed anymore. I know next to nothing about cars, so any advice you might have on what might be wrong and the price of the clutch part is very much appreciated!

I'm not saying this is what is causing your problem but I would check these 3 things before I would even consider a new box.
1)Check autobox oil level!
2)There is a microswitch under the drivers side dashboard on the bulkhead next to the heater box,I have changed these a few times when the complaint has been no or intermittent drive.
3)Relay,there is a relay for the autobox in the engine bay on the bulkhead underneath a black cover.
