I have a punto 1995 1.1 55sx 5dr. Ive noticed a patch of rust on the talegate around and under the window seal. How hard/easy is it to take out the window so i can get at the rust properly and then replace it again ?
Using the long knife is quicker, and easier on the hands!
Thing with rear screens is 9/10 they will only remove the glue cos the glass has been put through, rarely will they remove a complete rear screen. Plus the chances of actually getting one out without breaking it are very, very slim....
guy i use is an independent he goes to breakers removes screens for people and fits them to save them a bit of dosh. i had him around here to remove a good front screen from a punto to replace a broken one in another, removal was very fast with the saw wire,
he did say that if there is a slight chip or floor in the glass it can break though.
you cant use knife it just gets stuck, i went to borrow some cheese wire from auto glass but there were no fitters there and its all kept on there vans will get some monday. how ever you might get away with just removing the trim because once removed there is quite a big gap, but i am not to sure how easy it will be to put trim back, if you do remove it pull off all for corners first, some picks below to show the gap,
thanks for the replies guys, not sure if i want to remove the trim tho then not be able to get it back on, dont want to leave the rust either........dilema
