Yeah it can be done, get the replacement dials panel of a Punto SX and you will need a temperature sender.

A Haynes Manual will show you how to connect up the rev counter, run a wire from pin 23 (PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THOUGH) - with the haynes manual - as im working from memory here, and then connect in where the power supply for the clock used to go (ie cut the power supply wire) insulate the end properly! and then splice the rev counter wire onto the plug.

The rest of the wiring is exactly the same, and everything else should work. The temperature sensor on the S models (back of the cylinder head) wont work with the gauge - as it is just a switch that is either on, or off, depending on the temp, rather than giving a varying output with the temperature. Just unscrew this and screw in the temp sender.

Hi All.
i have recently had a new engine put into my 1998 s reg 1.2 punto s 60. Now ive had the heating system bleed up, which now the heater is blowing hot air through, but recently the RED warning light has started to come on but still blowing hot air. My question is...... is this single red warning light only related to the water cooling section? or does it mean theres a fault other than the cooling system? It might be a case of i still have an airlock in the system, which ok i'll bleed it again. But its this red warning light is it only related to the cooling system?

many thnaks

The temp warnign light will come on if the car is overheating...either due to an airlock in the coolant system, or something a bit more serious like a HG failure.
