Have an idling issue.

Change plugs, leads and ignition coil pack. Better but still juddering.

Sent off ECU to ECU testing.

They are unable to test as the ECU is not compatible with their testing equipment.

Well, what do I do now?

Sell car, as issue is not huge at the moment. Before it gets worse?

Or try to find another company that can test and have car off the road again?

This is going to be a big decision for me, do I keep on spending money to track down the fault. I suppose having a fiat dealership look at the ECU is going to be serious money.

Any advise or experience anyone has I would be most grateful.

Did you run any diagnostics before sending the ECU away? If so what did you use and what were the fault codes?
You cannot do any in-depth faultfinding on a modern car without computer based diagnostics. Multiecuscan is highly recommended for Fiat cars.

What engine does your car have?
The issue could be nothing to do wth electeronics or ignition for example an intake or vacuum leak or timing or.......

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I put a previous post on this forum where I put all the initial details and a copy of the fault codes that I found.

It appears engine cyclinder misfires in no.2 and also random cyclinder.

Post below.

Thanks

That helped,
Have you read this thread?

I still say you need to get proper diagnostics on it, look at sensor signals etc. I'm no Punto expert but it does not sound like the common ECU problem.
