Hi All,

New to the site due to a problem I am having with my 2013 (63) Punto 1.2 pop, 46000 Miles

In February I had some trouble with it juddering when I was idle, like it was almost trying to stall itself. After about a week the engine management light came on so I took it to my local garage. They plugged it into their diagnostics computer and the got the P0201 code. Which was a cylinder 1 injector circuit malfunction. They replaced the faulty injector, also the coil pack and spark plugs. So off I went happy with the work they had done.

Over the last couple of weeks when driving to work on the motorway the car seems to get to about 70-75mph and then lose all power. if I pull in switch the engine off and restart it, it seems fine but does it again when I get up to the same speed. It does seem to drive ok if I keep the revs under 3500. Whilst this might sound economical its a bit slow for me.

The guys at the garage have tested it again they also moved the injectors around to check the new one isn't faulty and it seems fine. They mentioned it might be a sticky valve or a faulty ecu and that I take it to a place that can run deeper diagnostics tests to discover the real problem with it.

Having already forked out a substantial amount for it how much more money is this likely to cost?

Thanks

First thing to try is a phonic wheel reset, cured the problem on my old Punto. Can be done with Multiecuscan or by your local mechanic. Cheapest option to try first.

ECU is expensive, only replace as a last resort.
