This is a odd one, had some problems with my car over the last few days because i left the radio on and the battery went completely flat!
It was jumped 3 or 4 times but didnt start and finally the AA in a massive lorry jumped it and got it going.

I then left it into the garage to get the rev counter repaired the same day as it's been broken for some time.

I collected the car today and notice something strange.
My millage has reset itself back to zero!

My total millage is being displayed as 24 TOTAL (which is about the same distance i've traveled today)

Anyone ever had this happen? I know i gotta go back to the garage but us there anything maybe i can do?

Did they tell you what they did to fix the rev counter ?

Maybe they fitted new clocks ?

Thats exactly what they done, fitted new clocks cos the old ones were burned out for a short.

Does the ECU not store a copy?

if its a mk2 yes the ecu is 'mean't to store it, and will eventually update the clocks (to prevent clocking), however AFAIK you can't reset the ecu's milage.

give it a few days and see if your original milage comes back

You've got the trip turned on which tells you how many miles you've done since you turned it on, turn it off and your mileage will be there (small black buttons to the side of the speedo housing).

Ah c'mon FFS lol I'm not that slow lol I know a fair bit about cars, inface i've been to the garage 27 times with this FIAT alone so i'm a bloody expert as this stage lol

Mine zerod off the other day but came back after about 20 minutes driving.. Dont know why.. Just did!

If the cluster is new then the original mileage should off been put into the new clocks via examiner,only the cluster itself stores the mileage.

when i took mrs daves car in for proxi alinement a while back, the printout had the km from the body computer printed on it

Got me thinking now.........:chin: I know on later Fiats this can be displayed....need to look into this.

Called the garage today, their head guy reckons he had a way to restore it back to normal, they need some guy from FIAT Ireland to come on and do it tho.
